Sin Rostro is an on going portrait series on undocumented immigrants living and working in the United States. The series captures individuals in their home, school, and workspace, embracing their true identities and shining light through the invisible shield that's been imposed upon them by factors of society.

 

Erika, 32, came to the United States with her two younger brothers in 2000 at the age of 16. She currently works as a cashier and cook at a gas station, Monday to Sunday. Erika is expecting her third child and in the middle of processing her permanent resident application.


 

Juan, 15, a freshmen in high school came to the United States along with his mother in 2006. He was just five years old just in time for Kindergarten registrations. "I remember a little from when I used to live in Mexico. If I had papers I would go back and visit."


 

Octavio, 47, came to the United States in 1993, leaving his entire family behind. Currently, he works as a farmworker in charge of crop irrigation and, in the off season, he's a welder. "The good thing is I'm able to have work all year round."


 

Felicitas, 48, first came to the United States in 1997, leaving her children behind while she sought a better future for them all. Eventually, Felicitas was able to bring her children along with her. She currently works as a cashier at a laundromat.


 

Luis, 43, first came to the United States when he was 17 in 1991. He's now married and the father of 3 children. Luis spent most of his early years in the United States working as a farm worker, currently he works as a roofer.
